Martin Berger

Martin Berger is a Hawaii attorney and owner of Hawaii Debt Solutions, a federally designated and Better Business Bureau accredited Debt Relief Agency. His practice is limited exclusively to solving people’s debt problems. Over the last 25 years he has helped thousands of people get a fresh financial start. 

He received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from Tulane University in New Orleans.  He later returned returned to Tulane where he received his Juris Doctor law degree (JD) with honors and his Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He was also inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business school honor society.

After graduation, he received his license to practice law in Texas, where he formed his own firm in the city of Austin. His practice focused on Bankruptcy and Family law. During this time, he was voted Best Family Lawyer by the Austin Chronicle.

Martin had been certified as a Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Specialization and, while he chose not to renew the designation, he was also the first person to receive a Certificate of Specialization in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the Hawaii Supreme Court. 

Although he lives in Honolulu now, Martin lived in Hilo on the Big Island for 14 years where he had a bankruptcy law office there and in Kona.  During this time he was also an adjunct professor of Business Law at UH Hilo.

Martin is a past President and Vice President of the Hawaii Bankruptcy Bar Association, is licensed to practice law in all Hawaii State and Federal Courts, and is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.

He donates his time and expertise to Volunteer Legal Services of Hawaii on a regular basis.

When not working, Martin can often be found surfing, cycling or playing guitar.
